Can you describe broken more? The key does not respond, the key is loose, etc? It may be as simple as popping the key back on.

I agree with everyone else then, just replace the keyboard.

    http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/DellPartsFamily.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&redirect=1&~ck=anavml

From above link look under 'Parts for your Desktops & Laptops/Inspiron Laptops' then in next window select 'Inspiron 700m' then 'View all Categories'.

Filter the results by selecting Dell under 'Shop by Brand' then Sort by low to high...the keyboard for your system should be listed toward the bottom of the page. Or select I/O Devices...there does seem to be more than one type keyboard avail for the I700/710m...

Just got the new keyboard. Installed perfectly.

    But.....Have some problems with it:

First the keyboard is not in English. Looks like spanish.

Second, all the keys are messed up. Like I press the + key, but turns out to be ], I press ? key but _ appear, and so on.

This is so messed up. :(

is there a way to change the setting or something?

    Thxs in advance.

First... make sure you ordered an English keyboard. Then (assuming you did) contact dell to get a proper replacement. I certainly would not settle for something else. After doing some remote support for some Swedish friends I understand how frustrating it is to use a foreign keymap :|

Second, the keys are messed up because you are using an english keymap (in Windows) and it's a spanish keyboard. If you look at your english keyboard you will see that your ] is where the + is on the new keyboard (or at least it's very likely). If you go to Control Panel, then to Regional and Language Options, click the Languages tab, click details, then click Add. If you select the key layout for the language the keyboard is in, everything should work fine.

    Also, pics of the keyboard?

called DELL earlier and they transferred me like 10 times to 10 different person GAH.

I ended up plug out the keyboard keys from my old keyboard and plug them in to the new keyboard 1 by 1 for the messed up keys...

Now they somewhat are in order except for 2 keys. |and\, i'll probably buying some stickers and stick to the keys later.

Well I think I'll get use to this new keyboard. instead of buying a new one for 37$ and 5$ shipping.

    Thxs alot Somms.
