Just a quick question as I'm wondering if my ethernet adaptor is not working.

I've installed the broadcom 10/100 driver 4.60 and when loading up the diagnostics software - Broadcom control suite, I get a red cross where the adaptor is. Vista is also telling me occasionally that there is an error loading the drivers but in device manager, the drivers look to be loading fine.

Question is: Is the red cross in the diagnostics software because I'm not using the ethernet adaptor or is there really an error in loading up the driver?

I'm connected up using wifi at the moment so this is all academic.

It's normal for the Broadcom control suite (and the network adaptor tray icon) to show a red cross if the adaptor is not actually in use. If the device manager says it's ok, you don't need to worry.
