This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Brand new Dell laptops from independent retailers

    There is an independent computer retailer in Glasgow which is selling what are described as brand new, boxed Dell laptops which have been shipped to them direct from Dell, with prices at around 25% less than buying from Dell Online. I won't name the retailer in case that is not allowed on these forums, but can anyone tell me whether Dell do actually deal through independent retailers in this way, or should these offers be treated with a degree of caution ?

    They're probably similar to what you see at US retailers like CostCo & Wal-Mart: pre-configured models.
