It was in boxing since yesterday and still in boxing. What's the chance it actually ships out today since today is the ESD?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
At Dell, our customers are our top priority and we regret when we are unable to ship our products by the original estimate provided. Although we anticipated being able to ship your order sooner, we are experiencing an unexpected delay and have adjusted the estimated ship date as reflected below (see Revised Estimated Ship Date). We value your business and appreciate your patience.
What's Next? When your order ships, you will receive an Order Shipped email that will allow you to easily track your package(s). At any time you may click on the Order Status bar below to view the current status of your order.

Relax. Boxing takes 3 days.
-
Well, the already delayed it by 2 days so free next day delivery should cancel that out.
-
To quote more than a few CSRs "Boxing takes 1-3 days"
-
To tell you the truth, i don't know when it was first in boxing. I just checked yesterday.
-
I lawled at your 8400 :-D
-
It's not a gaming rig. Got the ps3 and 360 for that. Just didn't want shared ;-)
-
****. Me too.

Yep, I went into Boxing on Monday, but also received a Delay notice just a little while ago. New ESD 5/30. I imagine all it means (for those already in boxing) is that it's not going to be shipped today...the original ESD...so they have to notify us of a delay. I really hope it goes out on the 29th though. I'd really like it by Friday. Starting to have doubts though.
-
Well my ESD is 6/5 so I dont think they will send me the same delay but I doubt I will ship out tomorrow.
-
Delayed. Been trying to get a hold of Customer Care now for the last hour.
-
Mine was supposed to go out and got the Delay email.
They said the processor is back ordered.
What are the chances of them upgrading the shipping? -
100% sure they will expedite the shipping for you.
What was your production status before the email, build? -
Automated lady said build stage.
I saw your response here:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=194279&page=101
Since I'm at work, I couldn't go off like I normally do. When I leave, I will be calling and demanding an upgrade on my shipment. Hope they give in. -
My ESD is today, but my online order status and the phone system say its still shipping today.
I didn't get any delay emails... -
-
So looks the Boxers of this week should be seeing a Monday-Tuesday arrival.
-
-
Called several supervisors in Customer care, said there was nothing they could do to upgrade the shipping since the order has already been processed. So I flipped out, told them all to F off, and now I have to just wait it out.
-
Call around, ask for post sales, ask for their manager, dont take no for a manager.
-
I got the same email.. Now it is delayed until 5/30, which means we won't get them until next week Monday or Tuesday..
-
Fountains just shipped, after getting delayed.
-
I know, his got shipped.. i want mine SHIPPED TOO!!
-
Any chance of mine getting shipped it went to boxing before I woke up yesterday...
-
Dell canceled my order. I got pissed and went to circuit city and bought a dv9830. They made me wait 2 weeks to tell me they didn't have my processor after the status was already in boxing. WOW No regrets here.
-
So, I just confirmed that mine is on the plane to the US, how soon can I expect it...
-
There is noone with the information to tell your laptop in on a plane. No CSR knows it.
-
Mine just got shipped too!! Cheeeeeehoooooo!!!
-
Eat it you people! lol 4th day of boxing and no shipping.
-
Hmmm... I was talking to a CSR on the phone and he says it checked out of the plant yesterday for transfer to the airport, I'm assuming that means its on the plane?
-
For what it's worth, I called and talked to a CSR early last evening. She spent some time looking up my order, and announced that it was in the boxing stage (like I couldn't figure that out myself) and that it'd ship within a day or two. Not more than an hour later my status was updated the Shipped. Clearly she didn't have any access to detailed info, or she'd have known how close it was. -
I wish the Dell Community OutReach dude would post here and comment on CSRs just being stright up liars.
-
-
ah...ic lol.
-
This is Richard; I am part of Dell's Online Community Outreach responding to the comments of this thread. No one wants to flat out lie to anyone. What a CRS can do is provide information that is on their screen. Since, they are not actually on the manufacturing floor; they would only be able to report what the builder has updated in the system.
When a computer is completely assembled it goes through the software install and test stage and it has a shipping number attached to it, which is electronically sent to the carrier. So, even though the shipping number is available the computer may not have been picked up by the carrier as of yet.
So, basically a CRS is not trying to mislead anyone. They are just not able to obtain up to the minute progress reports and can only speculate based on the information available.

Richard B

Looks like you got your wish Lucanesti.

Richard...for the record, I'm not the guy that suggested that CSR's were "flat out liars."
But...would a CSR really have at his/her disposal the necessary information to tell a customer that his laptop had "checked out of the plant yesterday for transfer to the airport." Because that's what one told the poster above. And if they really do have access to that sort of detail, why is it every time I chat or talk with one, they never seem to be able to tell me any more than I can get off the web site?
(Except of course Dell Rep "Christian" who told me in chat that he guaranteed my order would ship on time...even though I never actually gave him my order number.)
Honestly, I have no problem with a CSR telling me that they don't know, or that certain information simply isn't available. That's fine. It just seems as if too often CSR's are filling in the blanks with whatever information it is that seems most likely to get the customer off the phone, regardless of whether or not it has any basis in truth.
Thanks for checking in. -
So, When Alvin tried to sell me a 9 cell battery and redo my order promising me a sooner ESD he wasnt trying to to lie to get more money out of me? No, he was.
Should orders in boxing be put on hold for parts? No, they shouldnt.
Do CSRs have the information of "Your Dell is on such and such plane and will ship tomorrow morning" or "You're at the end of the Shipping queue and you will be assigned a tracking number tonight or in the morning" No, they dont have this information.
They lie, end of story. They lie on purpose to get people off the phones so they dont have to do their jobs. Sales reps like Alvin lie to get more money out of you. Alvins Manager had to give me monetary compensation so I didnt file a grievance for the gouging he was trying to pull over on me.
Im the one who suggested they are flat out liars, because every time I call, I hear another lie. -
They were probably providing you a best guess based on normal procedures and the information available at the time. I am sure that they had the best intensions of telling you the box was being loaded on the plane. However, as we all know intensions don't always work out.

Richard B

Everyone I have spoke with at Dell is full of ****.
-
This guy isnt going to give us real anwsers. He isnt going to tell us "Yes, we have you put down as Boxxing and that was wrong because we were still producing the laptop and didnt have a part then backordered your ESD"
If you're in boxxing, there should be no backorder delays unless you're out of flipping boxxes! -
First of all, if you're so unhappy with how Dell does their business, then why did you purchase their product? That is very hypocritical IMO.
Second of all, it wouldn't kill you to watch your manners. Randomly attacking a person who is not responsible for how things are done in a company is just stupid. There are better, more productive ways of resolving your issues. Complain to Dell's management if you so choose. I'm sure they'll be more than happy to hear from you.
And speaking of wasted resources, have you done anything that would be beneficial to anyone but yourself, instead of talking crap on a forum?
Just something to think about... -
Am I in the posistion to help everyone? No. Im not an employee, I dont have a boss to report to with suggestions on how to make things better. I cant hold a conference with Mr.Dell and call his CSR server a bunch of liars and his Production slow and neglectful to backordered people.
I purchased their product because its a nice product. I never said the laptops were junk, they arent, or Dell wouldnt be beating there profit prodictions and climbing the ranks again. They make profit, thats why things within the system dont change, because they make a profit.
Am I flustered with the way Dell treats their customers, yes. Does seeing some PR guy on the forums anwsering a question here and there pretending like Dell cares when they dont piss me off? Yeah, it does. This Community Outreach guy is supposed to give me feel good feelings that Yeah, dells in my corner and they even come to our forums to help us.
If our only problem were the minute off problem one of those guys anwsers, then I'd probally appreciate them. When orders are being pushed back for months and new orders flying through, Sales reps are trying to gouge people, Tech people are lieing about replacements and being short with people then no I dont appreciate him and its kind of an insult to see him acting like Dells innocent when lawsuits and bad reviews and cancled orders say something else. -
I have bought from Dell before, and it was a good experience.
This time is different, and I won't buy from Dell again. And I will do my best so my friends, family, and people on these message boards do not either. -
My inspiron 6000 is a great notebook and I can't wait to try out my xps.
