How much longer is this going to take? I have seen the average is 2 to 3 days but mine has been in over 5 days now. The last time I ordered a notebook from Dell they showed in production for a week after I recieved it. I'm afraid I'm going to come home and it is going to sit on my porch all day.

Mine (M1530) went from order received to shipped in a day and a half :) , so there really is nothing you can say about it.

Hey...so your checking the on-line order status, and via automated phone?

Maybe you should contact Dell directly and ask the Rep the *exact status* of where your order is in the *boxing stage*. They, can tell you this ;) :)

Here is a good read about the laptop order stages

    Good luck!

    Cin ;) :)

I've called two dell reps and the only thing they can tell me is that it is in boxing stage and that it should ship with in the next week. I guess Ill have to take a chance that the tracking number will show up online before its delivered.

Oish..sorry. :( However, yes you will receive the tracking number when its about to be shipped. And, if you see that it has been shipped w/out a tracking number being provided...call the Dell rep, and ask them to provide it to you! They can do this, as they did it for me ~ when mine was shipped, and we couldn't figure out what was going on with the tracking number ;) :)

And, because of a few prob's with my order I was having...I got them to upgrade me to Next Day Shipping at no cost! ;) That's also a thought for you, too.

    Cin ;) :)

This is the third time I purchased a system via the internet. (the first time with Gateway).

I have a system that seems to be in "boxing" for an eternity. I guess the wait is part of the allure of ordering via the internet.

Opposed to just going to Bestbuy and getting less of a system but getting that "instant gratification"!!!

Ordered M1730 8/19 with est. ship date 9/9-9/11. SHip date was pushed back 3 times before I rec'd 9/22. System showed in boxing stage for almost 2 weeks. Called and rep changed to next day shipping, and about 30 minutes after it was delivered I rec'd a phone call and an email making sure I rec'd and was happy with it.

You people need to stop making useless threads like this, seriously.

If you aren't sure what's going on, call Dell up.

If you just ordered your laptop, give it 1-2 weeks, that's the general time it takes.

Now, save some bandwidth and call them.
