"Boxing stage"...how long does that take?

Yesterday, my M4400 order was in the "build stage".

Today, it's in the boxing stage. How freaking long does it take to box and ship it? Longer than build stage? The robot girl said the ESD is still Sept. 23.

It's the 3rd, so it's going to take 20 days to box and ship? Or is that what the robot girl was saying because Dell only gives estimates on ESDs?



Can't wait

 

3-4 days is what most people tell me.

 

With next day shipping, does that mean my computer will *possibly* arrive next week?

 

Maby cant say u will get it next week.but maby iwould say call em and see whats up

3-4 days it is. I wonder if they "box" on weekends?

 

Mine went from pre-production to shipped in a few hours, I doubt boxing/testing took that long...
Maybe they ran out of boxes/DVD's?

 

Although I cant say with any real certainty, my dell shipped a few days before it was supposed to arrive. But then again there is a pretty good hype around your model so that is probably causing the delay. All in all I was surprised at how fast dell got my customized setup built and in my hands.

I placed the order Aug. 29. It shipped 7 days later. Not bad for Dell nowadays!

*Edit: Just found out DHL ships on weekends. Argh I won't sleep tonight. First laptop ever, I've always had crappy second-hand desktops which I've had to tweak to speed up. Can't wait to personalize this machine into a performance beast. I'm very excited!

 

BTW, Dell does build, test and box on the weekends. Asian factory workers don't require mandatory 30 min lunch breaks. 40 hour work weeks and ergonomic tools are also not part of their regulations. They make us look soooo lazy. Thank God for old fashion American ingenuity.

 

I don't think you will sleep tonight...either ...Thats how I was when my 1530 was being shipped, and I knew where it was ~ and how far away before it was delivered! LOL.....I think I fell asleep from pure exhaustion LOL

Okay new update!

It's Saturday 2:25 PM and I am upset. But not in a bad way, in a frustrated way. I live in Brooklyn NY and I checked the DHL tracking history - the computer arrived in Brooklyn NY at 10:30AM this morning.

I hope they choose to deliver it, otherwise my dad says they close at 4:00PM today and wont deliver Sunday

 

dhl where I live doesn't deliver on the weekends....i had to wait until monday arghhhhh

 

DHL is actually pretty horrible about keeping its site up to date and delivering things on time. Alot of reviews for it are bad, and in my personal case, I paid for two day shipping for a package, it got to my house 4 days after DHL received the package. Even their estimated delivery date was dated two days before I got the package.

 

That's the crappy part....Knowing that your lappy is in the city you live..and you have been waiting for it ~ and it's right there but not delivered yet.

Just try to have a bit of patience yet...I know you really want your lappy, like yesterday! Nope they don't deliver on Sunday...

It will be there for yah...think very soon!

I want to do a full out review asap! But my schedule is packed, only day I'm 100% free is friday (not sure about nighttime) but from 12PM - 8PM I'm going to spending time with this computer and with NBR in mind!

@Cin, yeah I'll definitely be blessing it with my presence as soon as possible. And when no one's looking I'll try to hug it if possible ROFL j/k or am I? Depends on how good it looks. Seriously. I'm nerdy like that.

 

Again..I'm glad you got your new *baby* finally...and when you have the time to do the review w/pics....that would be just fantastic!

Oh, and....you go ahead and *hug* your new baby as much as you want! me= also ROFL...but it's ok...When I finally got my 1530...I just stared at it for a while...and I think I may have *hugged* it also for a few! LOL
