If you want to know when your boxed laptops are going to be shipped you can look at when the cargo flights from China Airlines arrive in Nashville, TN (usually one every day or two). The laptops will ship the same morning they arrive in Nashville.
The schedule is usually Malaysia - Taiwan, Taiwan - Anchorage, Anchorage - Nashville, Nashville - U.S. Shipping Carrier (usually DHL).
Here is the arrival times for the next couple days (all times local):
August 27th - Taiwan 4:30 AM - Anchorage - 9:15 PM - Nashville - 7:30 AM
August 28th - No Flights
August 29th - Taiwan 2:00 AM - Anchorage - 6:45 PM - Nashville - 5:05 AM
August 30th - Taiwan 1:50 AM - Anchorage - 6:35 PM - Nashville - 4:55 AM
Don't forget that Taiwan is almost a day ahead of the U.S. so their departure date is actually the same calendar day of arrival in Nashville. When the flight lands in Alaska, it is the calendar day prior to arrival in Nashville.

Thanks, bro. Didn't even think about this.
-
Great info to have since so many arte being shipped this week, hopefully mine as well! I am in boxing!
-
Yeah, so basically if your order hasn't shipped today, it won't ship until Wednesday at the earliest.
-Tzale -
Nice. Do you have some sort of inside connection with Dell that explains how you got this information?
Also, just out of curiosity, where did you find the China Airlines schedule? -

Thanks for the information! I'm curious to know which plane my computer will be on!
-
I'm not sure if I can correctly read the dates on this flight schedule, but, today, 28-Aug, I recieved notification that my Vostro shipped. According to this flight schedule this should not have happened. Maybe my Vostro was a left over from the shipment on the 27th.

Dell has another jet flying into Nashville tonight... Right now it's on it's way from Alaska to Nashville and should arrive around 5:05 AM... I hope my Latitude is on there.... My cousin's Green Inspiron 1520 arrived on the last flight which was on the 27th and went into DHL's system at midnight on the 28th.

The current flight is currently travelling at 540MPH, at 33,000 feet and is currently schedule to land at 4:37 AM, ahead of schedule... Lets hope our laptops are on there so we'll be happy tomorrow to get out of the boxing stage.

Here's the date stamp of the email notification that Dell sent me...
28 Aug 2007 01:46:59 -0500
I guess that would be from the shipment of 27th.

any more flights scheduled after this?
-
nope, thats it. Dell will no longer be shipping the computers from Malaysia after this, you will have to go to the plant and pick it up yourself.
-
After my experience with Dell, I actually wouldnt be all that surprised -
Mine shipped today!
Shipping Method: Next Business Day
Shipped Date: 8/30/2007
Est. Delivery Date: 9/4/2007-9/6/2007
Carrier: DHL EXPRESS GROUND
Anyone know how long DHL express ground takes? I was upgraded to next business day, so I don't know why I have an ESD of 9/4-9/6. I hope I get it tomorrow. I'd hate to wait until after the holiday to receive my M1330. -
My cousin's laptop was shipped 3-5 business days DHL Express Ground but DHL sent it via regular ground. It took her 2 days from TN to NJ, less than 12 hours for me.
-Tzale -
Mine says the same thing as above:
Shipping Method: Next Business Day
Shipped Date: 8/30/2007
Est. Delivery Date: 9/4/2007-9/6/2007
Carrier: DHL EXPRESS GROUND
But, my tracking number doesn't work, and no email from Dell confirming shipping...... I'm trying not to get too excited yet. -
I received mine at 2:03pm though DHL says 1:50pm
Ohh well who cares right? I don't, its here and I love it. -
-Tzale -
DHL Express Ground (without the next day wording" is just like saying "DHL Express" (the company) Ground
-
Thank you, Tzale! At least this is a step in the right direction. I guess I'll check again in the morning.
-
Congratulations 10x! You'll probably be up all night playing with it.
-
So if I'm in boxing now, it should ship this morning at like 5 am with the next flight from anchorage (theoretically). What're the odds, if it does, it'll go from Nashville to Westchester, NY tomorrow if I have Next Business Day delivery on my order (funny thing is they only upgraded my computer, my bag and docking station are still regular)?
-
* 8/30 still in boxing 8:27 am
doubtful if it would ship and get here by Tuesday -
If I'm reading the Flightaware trackers right, there isn't another flight from Anchorage to Nashville until Tuesday.
-
that explains the 9/5 (Wednesday ) esd .... cause of labor day so maybe we get lucky and get them by friday next week , did a flight leave last night ? It might take them some time to process orders too ( seems there order status system can lag up to a day and the online lags worse ) ... i can see a fully loaded plane just with laptops ... man how much value in laptops can fit on one flight? this also explains some delays i wonder if they have to reach so many orders to fill a flight? oh anyone have links tracking scheduled flights ?
-
Here is the time differences. Here is the next flight out of Taiwan. Enjoy

As you can see, the next flight departs in 40 min at 1:50 PM EST -
I'm hoping my baby is on that friggin' plane!
-
Me too.. mine started boxing sometime last night
-
You ordered yours a week after me :l
-
How sure are you guys that these are even the correct flights/airline Dell uses?
-
You guys sure have this down to a science. Sounds like me when I was working for the airlines in tracing.
-
This is what happens when people are tired of waiting and start hoping their laptop is at least moving closer to being in their hands...
-
OMG mine just shipped after i was nice to a CSR got Next day delivery too on transit to carrier atm. does there carrier deliver on Saturdays ( labor day ... lol )
so Tuesday or Wednesday
order date 7/18/2007
been in build the whole time
box stage date 8/30/2007
shipped 8/31/2007 -
Hmm, that gives me hope mine will at least ship today- I went into boxing yesterday too.
-
interesting thing is the CSR told me they have no way to see any more information then we can on dells website . ( im thinking theres no system to see much what goes on in production except for bulk inventory ) interesting thing was he updated it to next day shipping like 5 mins after that it shipped
-
No change for me -- still in boxing sice yesterday
-
The next flight into Nashville should, if it arrives on schedule, land at ~11:35 CDT (Central Daylight Time). For those too lazy to obsessively refresh the Flightaware page. Hopefully it's loaded with some of our computers.
-
Ok. Even if our lappys are on that flight, there is probably no one staffed during these hours to package them up and ship them.
My guess is they will sit in there shipping wharehouse until Tuesday..... -
NateTheGreat503 Notebook Consultant
Exactly. sleey0 is right. Which is more than likely why my ESD isn't till September 4th, Tuesday.
-
Yah, I also did some pretty poor math. ETA 6 hours from now, IE 4:34 AM CDT.
-
It's all good. At least we are in boxing, right?
-
NateTheGreat503 Notebook Consultant
Exactly. I was damn glad to hear that. haha A step closer to me! lol
-
Landed in Nasvhille. That site's tracking is weird...
-
Any guesses if laptops that went into boxing early on Wednesday are on that plane?
DHL must deliver on Saturdays because there's lots of planes flying over me now (I work adjacent to their Wilmington, OH hub). -
NateTheGreat503 Notebook Consultant
It's already in Nashville?
-
Yeah, that 747 must fly at light speed to get from Alaska to Tennessee in 90 minutes!
-
I still think it's funny that we are assuming these are the flights our laptops are on
-
NateTheGreat503 Notebook Consultant
haha. That's what I was thinking.
-
And, in fact, it did ship out on Wednesday August 29 as predicted.
