in my opinion a M1210 would be better. But the system you got is good too
-
I bought it without bluetooth, but I'm assuming I can buy a bluetooth module designed for the x1 and install it myself, correct?
-
Nevermind - it seems the difference between "bluetooth enabled" and "bluetooth disabled" is a bios setting.
-
I just couldnt get over the external drive so I went with the m1210.
-
That's why I went with 700m awhile back as well, but X1 does look very sexy though. I wouldn't mind if I have one of those...
Great buy flip21! I really wanted to buy Samsung branded one, when I was traveling, but couldn't afford one at that time. :'(. -
Yeah, the Samsung would've been my first choice, if I had had the money.
-
The price includes tax and sending or not?
Mine was recently bought in the US for $1275 (tax and 2 days mail in included), 80G/1280M/Combo/BT enabled.
The state is almost perfect up to one or two invisible small scrathces.
The display is very good (one additional brightness level would be better,
and the viewwing angles are average) and the sturdiness is slightly below my expectations.
Which sleeve are you going to use with X1. I still haven't found a proper one and so far using a bigger one from my older subnotebook. -
PS: We have a great thread devoted to Latitude X1 here:

I don't know about a sleeve yet. I guess I'll poke around online and see waht people think. Sounds like you bought a scratch and dent model. I went with the refurbished. -
I also bought refurbished. The price was 1079$. However, it was a particular day , and I was waiting for it for several weeks.
It is not excluded that the scratch could have appeared during the transportation from the US (the person had no idea how the notebook should
be transported).
The best candidate sleeves for X1 I found was x-tremegeek.com 11in for 14$ and Sumdex ImpactGuard 10.6". However, both are not perfect for a wide screen notebook like X1 (the height is 9in vs. 7.7in of X1). -
excellent replacement of the older Inspiron 700m than Latitude X1).
We (X1 users) chose no noise and super portability for every day use here! -
Yeah, should I want to play a game, I'll use my Inspiron 9300. It just isn't ideal for transportation to and from class.
-
Actually there was on this forum a reported succefful case of overclocking of X1. I haven't tried it yet. Want to get a proper NB cooler for this experiemnt first.

because even 2,5" HDDs produce more noise (25dB) than 1,8" HDD of X1
(19dB), the only noise produced by X1. It depends on the environment you
usually work in. If it is a crouded internet cafe or a busy street, you won't hear even the fan noise on the background. I personally like to work in quite places so that even the noise of Fujitsu 2,5 HDDs (28dB) may annoy me.
Bought my X1
