I bought the M1330 with the 8400M GS and I wish to downgrade to the Intel X3100. But I am not sure how to go about doing this. Here are the options I thought of:

    1) Return the M1330 with the Total Satisfaction Guarantee, and buy a brand new M1330 (have to do this before 5/28 since the coupon expires)
    2) Call Dell and request a replacement system with the graphics downgrade
    3) Request a motherboard replacement
    4) ???

Which option would be best for me to do? Anyone experienced this situation I am in?

I think you can go for 1); just make sure you aren't charged a restocking fee. If you bought that laptop recently, there should be no fee, but it doesn't hurt to check.

Depending on how long you purchased your laptop, you can milk Dell for some cash. Tell them that you are thinking about returning the laptop. They will usually give you something to persuade you to keep the laptop. Take a few days off and go back and say you want to return it, and put send it back to Dell. Order the new M1330.
