Hey guys.
I have a Dell Inspiron 7577.
I recently installed a new hard drive, Samsung 960 Pro, and had to use a data migration tool to move my OS from one drive to another.
After this was done, I noticed that my new drive was split into 3 partitions: D drive, Z drive, and a hidden drive.
D drive was the main drive with 450+gb.
The Z drive was around 500mb and was labeled system.
The z drive was visible in My Computer, but i cannot access it due to some permission.
I didn't like the look of there being a Z drive, so I tried to merge it using the same software, but it didn't allow me to. I then decided to make it a hidden drive, which completed successfully. Nothing went wrong then and I was able to use my computer like normal.
The problem is that, after rebooting, my computer told me that no bootable devices were found.
I tried a number of solutions including :
1) going into bios and turning off secure boot.
2) going into bios >> boot sequence >> Add boot options - this throws an error that says file system not found.
3) using legacy boot
Is this because i hid the system partition? How do i unhide it?

I had this happen to a small USB drive I was using. I could not even format it to fix it. I had to use a special software package from a local computer store to restore the full drive to normal. When I moved to my 2tb firecuda from my HDD, I used AMOEI backupper. There is an option to move your entire drive to a new drive and it worked great. No messing about with changing things etc.

I am curious why you would copy your OS to the new drive? Seems like it would be worth it to set bios to AHCI and do a fresh install so you can really take advantage of the 960 pro...
