    Hey all,

Just thought I'd let you all know that I'm typing this message on my new Dell Inspiron 1520 Midnight Blue!!! That's right. It shipped August 16th, and I was so excited. But then I checked online tracking through DHL and they said that it was ground shipping, not next day like Dell had promised, which means 1-6 business days. I was scared. Would I not get my laptop in time??? I didn't know. But I had a plan. In case it did come, I left a note on the front door for the DHL guy to leave it with my neighbor across the street. See I was out of town on the day they were supposed to deliver it to me (if it was going to be next day shipping). I got back from out of town at 7:15 CST and walked my dog, then rushed over to my neighbor's house to see if it was there. AND IT WAS!!! YAY!!! So anyway, I took it home intending to open it up. However, the DELL Gods teased me once more. My sister told me not to open it till I got to college and settled in (which would be the next day, the 18th). So finally, after settling in and saying bye to my family, I opened it up. All I have to say is WOW!!! It's sexy, fast, build quality is excellent, and vista is great.

I'm so glad I waited it out. Midnight Blues (as well as the rest of you), I wish you the best of luck in getting your laptops. I will try to continue to stay on this board for as long as I can, because it's given me so much in this short time.

    Thank you everyone.

Congrats. Every time another person posts that they've received their midnight blue 1520 and how great it is makes me even more impatient for mine to come.

well I learned a lot throughout this wait.

-dell didn't prep enough for their grand scheme of colored inspirons
-dell never seems to have enough wxga+ screens
    -dell is gay
-dell customer service need to learn about the difference stages of an order

Maybe you guys can clear something up for me... If I wanted to cancel my order now (I know im not at the ESD yet.. but i feel like it's gonna be delayed/having second thoughts about it) and perhaps get a Vostro 1500 instead (which i heard ships quick and I rather like the all black look now) would I have to pay a restocking fee? Do I have to pay for a restocking fee if I tell them I want to switch to a Vostro???

You shouldn't have to pay a restocking fee. When I canceled my first order, they said nothing of the sort. If they do give you some hassle, try telling them you are reordering from Dell. That might be why they didn't think twice about canceling my first order.

Hi there...I am a Michigander from Newaygo. I see your unit shipped on Saturday the 18th and you got it today (Monday). Curious, did you originally have 3-5 day shipping and then get upgraded to next day by chance? That is what happened to me and my unit shipped out today (8/20) but on the website it says my ESD is from 8/23-8/27. I was hoping I would get my unit tomorrow. It is shipping thru DHL.
