I just found out another way, besides going into Display settings and changing your DPI from 120 to 96, to fix the blurred/pixelated image phenomenon. Apparently, Dell's Quickset has an automatic scaling enabled just for IE (which is why the artifacts don't happen in other browsers like Firefox).

To turn it off, either single-left-click the QuickSet taskbar icon which pulls up a menu, and one option is "Internet Explorer Scaling," which opens up another menu allowing you to disable, or right-click->open the control panel and go to display settings and uncheck the box for IE scaling.

This way you can keep your 120 DPI without sacrificing image quality in IE.

BTDT. All that does is kick IE back down to 96dpi with tiny text defeating the global 120 dpi settings for larger text.

It's only the bitmapped graphics that break at 120dpi. I think vector based icons and graphics are on the way with Vista.
