Hey
I got bluetooth with my XPSM1530
I just started trying to use it after 5 months, dont know what the point of me getting it on my laptop cause did cost.
My problem is.. I can send stuff from my lappy to my phone, but I cannot send info from my phone to my laptop, it does not see my lappy as a conective device?
Am I doing something wrong.
Also What is bluetooth for, I know its for transfering data, but I can do that on a flash drive.
I tried the desktop on my phone were i can control my desktop but what is the point of that when my laptop is right beside me and I can control it myself and faster as well.
Can someone please help with the questions, its a all a bit confusing this setting and function.
Thanks so much

you have enable show my device or let my device be seen or similar on your laptop...
-
right click on bluetooth icon in the task bar > settings > options > check "allow bluetooth devices to connect to this computer" and the "alert me when a new bluetooth devices wants to connect" .... see if this helps!!

Thanks for that guys.
What do you use your blue-tooth for on your laptop.
Im pretty sure there is tons of things to do with it but I can only think of 1, transfering music or pics off my phone and visa versa for the computer.

Some printers have bluetooth.
From Wikipedia:
More prevalent applications of Bluetooth include:
* Wireless control of and communication between a mobile phone and a hands-free headset. This was one of the earliest applications to become popular.
* Wireless networking between PCs in a confined space and where little bandwidth is required.
* Wireless communications with PC input and output devices, the most common being the mouse, keyboard and printer.
* Transfer of files between devices with OBEX.
* Transfer of contact details, calendar appointments, and reminders between devices with OBEX.
* Replacement of traditional wired serial communications in test equipment, GPS receivers, medical equipment, bar code scanners, and traffic control devices.
* For controls where infrared was traditionally used.
* Sending small advertisements from Bluetooth enabled advertising hoardings to other, discoverable, Bluetooth devices.
* Two seventh-generation game consoles, Nintendo's Wii[3] and Sony's PlayStation 3 use Bluetooth for their respective wireless controllers.
* Dial-up internet access on personal computer or PDA using a data-capable mobile phone as a modem.

Hey
How long do you think it would take to transfer large files like a 700mb movie file or 4gb game?
Is it just better to just use a flash drive from me dektop to my lappy or would blue-tooth be easier.
Thanks -
Bluetooth's max transfer speed: 2.1Mbits/s
Depending on your stick's speed it'll be faster (ie. if it transfers at >1.05Mbits/s, 'cause you have to do it on each pc)
