I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop with Dell's BT travel mouse. Occasionally the bluetooth mouse will not function after coming out of sleep mode. Usually the system will wake from sleeping and the BT mouse will not function or show up under the bluetooth hardware devices (I can't add the mouse either). I usually have to restart the system which does not correct the problem, but at least the device appears under bluetooth hardware. I then have to remove the device and reconnect the mouse.
I don't understand why the device doesn't show up after sleep, although it won't allow me to add/remove the device either. The only fix is to reboot and then remove, and add mouse. I've noticed some similar problems with other bluetooth manufacturers but I don't know where the source of my problem is. Is this a common Dell/Vista/bluetooth problem, or does anyone have a solution? thanks.

I've had similar experiences with the BT mouse not being active after resuming from sleep mode... this is actually a noted problem.
I have installed the Vista Service Pack 1 RC1 a little while ago and it fixed this problem.
I'd suggest "putting up" with it until the service pack 1 is released.
On a side note... instead of rebooting, I find that:
1) Waiting until the computer is fully up and running after waking from sleep mode before turning on the mouse seems to help.
2) Turing bluetooth off and then back on also helps.
