Im trying to figure out of my bluetooth on my E1705 can do file transfers with my Moto V551. I had a USB Bluetooth dongle before with my desktop that could transfer ringtones and pics, but it looks like I wont be able to do this with my Dell. Anyone know if this is possible and if so how to do it?
Thanks

What program did you use on your desktop to transfer the files? It should work on your notebook since bluetooth is universal. I use bitpim but I don't think your phone is supported.

im wondering the same thing. cept i have a e1505 (but i do have the same phone). when i try and send files with my laptop, it tries to install modem drivers.

hah i was trying to do the same thing the other day, but the program that comes on my E1505 said that it couldn't recognize any bluetooth device, even though i enabled it on my phone. I have a Moto E815...any ideas?

as long as you can pair the device you can transfer files both directions using bluetooth manager...moto 551 should pair easy enough, just keep trying...

Ive been trying for the last 40 mins with now luck. I see the file transfer option but it wont pick up my phone, only when I search for it back at the main BT menu. Anyone have good instructions on how I can get this to work. Im so close...

I really don't like giving other site's address, but this link have all the answer regarding phones. Make sure you have Widcomm drivers installed on your computer, because Toshiba driver dell laptop comes with really sucks.

I have an E1505 and a Moto Razr. To send things to my phone I have to enable BT, and set it to be able to be found. It was tricky to get them to pair up, but once it was done, that's all I have to do. So try making your phone discoverable before going into the Wireless File Transfer on the laptop.

Sending files should be easy enough, just use the transfer file command in the BT manager. Getting BT to connect is mainly the hard part. I had an ambicom CF card, and its win2003 software was great for PDAs, but its windows xp/2k drivers were total crap. I had to download like 3 different software packages to get drivers and such, and even then the bluetooth connection would die after 10 or so minutes. Havnt tried my dells internal BT yet, but thats cause I no longer have internet on my phone, cost to much, not to usefull atm.
