I have a problem with my bluetooth connection of my Dell Latitude D830 and I hope someone can help me with it. I'll try to provide as much information as possible.

I received my D830 today and everything was working fine (the bluetooth light on the right hinge was steady blue). I wanted a clean Vista install however and I reinstalled Vista. After this install, the bluetooth and the WiFi lights didn't burn (but that's obvious. there were no drivers installed yet). I installed the WiFi drivers and that does work now.

Now I installed Dell's bluetooth driver. It is called something like "Dell wireless 360 module driver" and I also saw the name "Vista Profile Pack setup". Now the bluetooth light still doesn't burn and although there is a bluetooth icon in the right side of my taskbar, it's submenu doesn't say "turn bluetooth on" (like it said before reinstalling Vista). The submenu does say "open bluetooth settings", "add a device" or "receive a file" but in the bluetooth settings there is nothing to turn the bluetooth on.

Does anyone know how to get my bluetooth working and get my bluetooth light burning again? I'd like to hear your suggestions. Thanks!

Edit: Oh, and the wireless (physical) switch, that has something to do with bluetooth too, doesn't turn bluetooth on either.

Nevermind. I went to the notebook service center on my uni and they will replace the BT chip because that didn't work.

It could also be that you needed to install R159805 (from Dells euro site) prior to installing the 360 drivers. I had to do that to re-enable the BT on my 1520
