    Here is my delima:
I have a new Inspiron 1720 with the Dell 355 Bluetooth Radio, and a Microsoft Wireless Notebook Presenter Mouse 8000 (Bluetooth - Purchased from Dell), At one time I boot the Notebook and the mouse works wonderfully. Another time I boot the Notebook and the mouse never connects and cannot be seen in the Bluetooth appellate in Control Panel. Yet I reboot (doing nothing else) and the mouse works wonderfully. I would say that 1 out of 4 boots fails to connect to the mouse but a reboot always connects OK.

I do have the box unchecked to allow the computer to turn off the Bluetooth Radio in control panel.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to the cause.

Is it a poor design for the 355 Bluetooth radio from Dell?

    Thanks

Did you try uninstalling the drivers and then installing them again?

YES - I have reloaded drivers 2 or 3 times directly fron Dell to make sure I have the lastest (and from Microsoft for the mouse - Intellepoint)

I do run Vista Home Premium.

The mouse always works when I reboot, and it does not appear to be an interferrence problem because it happens anywhere I use the Notebook.

This is what is so puzzling to me - that the mouse always works with a reboot. If the drivers are bad, they should be bad regardless if I reboot.

    Thanks for your response...

    Chuck

    Hi All

    The problem continues...

I just dowloaded and installed (AGAIN) the Dell 355 Bluetooth Driver for the radio and the Microsoft Intellipoint driver for the mouse.

Plus - just to make sure - I put new batteries in the mouse.

Yet one time I boot and the mouse works perfectly... The next time I boot the mouse is not connected... The next time I boot the mouse works perfectly...

    Any ideas from anyone please.

    THanks...

Same issue here with Vista Ultimate on an Inspiron 1721. The mouse SOMETIMES disconnects with a restart of Windows. I'm forced to remove the mouse from the Bluetooth profile and then reconnect it.

Has there been a solution found?

Happens on my m1330 also. Have had to remove profile and reconnect it also at least twice now.

Having SAME problem w/ my Dell 6400 and Bluetooth Mouse. Updated the drivers many times and still having the problem. In my case, I can use the mouse for hours on end and then it all of a sudden loses connection and I have to reboot in order to get it to reconnect. Sure wish someone could figure this one out...

We have the same problem with the same mouse, on a D630 and D430. Problem persisted until I swapped one of the mice to an RF (non-Bluetooth, VX Nano) mouse. Both now function flawlessly, so it may have intereference this whole time. I tried changing channels too, but with no luck. I tried using the internal BT360 and external dongle also without success.

Others may have had success with BT, but BT in general has been very flaky in this household.

    Regards,
    Paolo
