How hard is it to install? I believe its the Bluetooth 355 module for my 6400. The only place that looks like its easy to take apart is where the memory goes( i think )

    Thanks

Installing the Bluetooth module in the 6400 is super easy. Shut down and unplug your machine. Remove the battery. Open small panel on the outside edge of the battery compartment. Plug in Bluetooth. Replace panel. Replace battery. Restart computer. I didn't even need any tools.

Search the dell support site for pictures of the whole process.

I don't think that the wireless is there, take a look at the manual or DELL's homepage.

Check out the dell support site here.

Scroll to the bottom to see the directions and photo for the bluteooth installation.

My 1505 came with a bluetooth module and Windows XP. After I used the express upgrade to Vista, my bluetooth was no longer found by the OS. Dell sent me a new bluetooth module and Vista was able to find it.

The support site shows where my module is.
:( I even downlaoded the drivers for the 355 bluetooth for vista..but it kepts asking me to turn my bluetooth on FN-F2 which i did.

Bluetooth isnt lite up like my wifi is just above the keyboard too.

I disconnect it and reconnect to make sure it was connected right,

It looks like a bluetooth from this ebay. The only different is the mac number.
Mybe i got a free broken bluetooth with my laptop.

This was the same problem that I had with my original bluetooth module. Somehow the older module wasn't recognized by Vista. Dell sent me a new one, I plugged it in, and it worked.

God I hate Vista but after talking to Dell and doing research on line I figured it out.

So if any others have this problem:
    Download the newest 355 drivers
    Extract them
    Cancel the install window
    Open Dell\drivers\r140135\3100_216\win32
    Click on "Inst" icon

Should install the drivers and find the bluetooth as well.

Did I say how much I HATE Vista!!

Oh yeah thank you Dell for the free Bluetooth :)

This sounds strange coz i got my bluetooth module (355) few days back. When i boot my system (Vista Home premium) after that it automatically detected and installed correct driver and is working great. Its interesting to know that old batch of same module has problem with Windows vista. Hope you are enjoying your bluetooth now. Itz really cool..... :)
