I'm going to downgrade from Vista to XP as soon as I got some time to do it calmly and as soon as I understand how to make my BLuetotth 355 work on XP.

Is there someone who knows how to do it smoothly and easily? Is there some guide? Thanks

I do not have the 355 module, but the 350 module is very straight forward. Download the driver from Dell and install. If your computer is 1705, you can get the 355 driver here.

I have the 355 in my E1505. It originally came with XP and I had no problems with it. Just install the XP driver and the quickset program from Dell and it should work fine.

I have the same module over here an no issues as well. On that note if you install XP yourself then you can allow it to setup its own stack for the bluetooth adapter. XP SP2 will support most bluetooth adapters including the Bluetooth 355 module with the built-in drivers. I found thatr the microsoft stack had better support than the widcomm stack that comes included with the drivers.

What exactly was it that the WIDCOMM stack didn't support, or problems you had with it? I don't have the 355 module, I have the 350 and have been thinking about buying a 355. Logitech used the WIDCOMM stack for all their BT products and I always had far better support with their external adaptors than I ever did with the Microsoft stack.

When I was testing phones from cingular I had found that the widcomm stack would not work properly with them. They might connect but would be unable to transfer files via bluetooth for example. With the microsoft stack it worked fine. Note that I returned the phones anyways because they didn't really fit me as it was.
