    hey all!

I ordered my E1705 without Bluetooth and now am thinking it may have been a mistake..

i was thinking of getting a bluetooth headsetmicrophone, since I like to walk around and use Dragon NaturallySpeaking..

    anways

    could you

    a) recommend a Bluetooth card to me and the approx. price
    b) recommend a headset-bluetooth capable microphone to me

Any other tips (other solution that bluetooth, but wireless) greatly appreciated :)

    thanks!

maybe I can :D I did exactly the same thing as you, but then decided to get a BT HS for my cell. So I...

    1) got motorola HS-850 headset off eBay for $30 shipped
    2) got bluetooth USB adapter off eBay for $10 shipped. (BT USB dongle is very very small)

This setup works really well with both my computer and my cell. I'm really happy. And I got both for a little more than the price of that Dell's BT card :D

this headset might not be the best option for gaming etc, but I don't use it for that...

Now... do i get a rep credit? :p

P.S. If you want to know what exactly I bought/from what sellers - let me know.

yes, that's my primary use for it. You can use it like a regular computer headset and regular microphone. The only reason it might not be suitable for gaming is because it's not stereo.

What's also really nice about it is that the microphone boom is foldable so when you don't use it you simply fold the boom and it turns the headset off completely (the headset won't be in standby like others). And when you're ready to use it again you simply unfold the boom and it automatically re-establishes the connection with whatever it was connected to last. So if someone calls you on skype and your headset is folded you should actually still be able to answer the call using the headset.

the USB module I bought online supports all sorts of devices (mice and keyboards, bt wireless cards, headsets, phones, pdas, printers, etc etc).
The headset works great 5-6 meters away from the computer with direct sight. I don't usually go further away than that.

I've attached the images of the BT USB adapter, my headset and my razr with protective covers on. :p

Hey thanks Leshii! I was thinking i also made the same mistake by not getting bluetooth installed in my M1210. I said to myself: "$50? Comeon...i'll never use it,"
And then I realised that I threw away my wireless mouse options! Now I can still go and change my order, they haven't even started making my laptop yet, but now I see that there are other *better* options out there. That bluetooth USB adapter is tiny! Plus it doesn't limit my bluetooth usage to just the M1210! Whoohoo!

Just buy a Dell Truemobile 350 bluetooth module on Ebay, $30 shipped. Ive done this already for numerous Inspiron and latitudes. Screw having to plug in a usb adapter when ebay has tons of bt internal modules for cheap. Driver's also readily available and updated on Dell's site.

Dell's are like civics, plentiful cheap parts for sale.

the upside of USB is that it's easy to install and that you can use it with multiple systems. ... and it's a third of the price.
