This has happened to me 3 or 4 times within the past few weeks. After randomly losing my internet connection, firefox would continue looking for a network connection and then I get a blue screen and it restarts. I couldn't read what it said because it restarted so fast. But here's what windows error report says when I get back on:

I also had a couple of bsods after waking up from hibernate and standby.
Anyone know why?

It seems some programs don't like vista or the m1330... I had the same problem as well... with AIM and a Diskeeper...
This is what fixed it for me... i uninstalled AIM and the diskeeper... system restored it back to the point before install...
then what really fixed it for me i used the vista repair utility -
Would an upgrade to SP1 fix the problem? I use Pidgin instead of aim on my laptop, and I don't have disk keeper.
-
bump, anyone?
-
well you should obviously upgrade to SP1, not doing so is stupid. There is no guarantee that it will fix the problem, but it couldnt hurt either. And it will fix some other smaller issues that vista is well known for.
-
I installed Sp1 and within 30 mins of just surfing the internet I got another BSOD. What is the best thing to do now? Go back to a certain restore point or reformat?
-
did u try the vista repair?
-
Sorry to repeat that, but my D630 came with Vista Ultimate. I got a lot of BSODs. Installed all new Dell drivers and the BSODs were still there. Formatted and installed Ultimate again and the problems returned. So I return to XP Pro and I´m happy with it..

what kind of network adapter do you have?
did you turn off the option to hibernate the wireless adapter?
are you using dell's driver from january? if you are then don't... use intel's driver if that the adapter you have -
I have the Intel 4965AGN WiFi Adapter. I never touched any option to hibernate the wireless adapter. I will try installing intel's driver. thx
edit: is this the correct driver you are talking about? http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det... Vista* Home Premium, 32-bit version&lang=eng -
also try backing up your firefox bookmarks and cookies
then uninstall firefox and re-install it.....
also, as suggested, check your power settings under properties for the intel adapter and uncheck the option to allow the pc to turn it off........... -
you can actually use the one on dell's website now... seems as though they pulled the driver from january...
but i use the one from intel's site... the one you linked to...
and yes if you did not change the power settings, it is defaulted to turn off on it's own and will wreak havok on your system... don't know why though
