    G'day !

I have been getting the dreaded blue screen every couple of days for the last few months but since last week I keep getting it every 15 minutes ! My lapotp is 4 years old so I guess I cannot drag it anymore and have to think about a replacement hard drive or a new laptop.

So which one is the best option. I dont want to shell out the extra dough on the new one so was wondering if its worth buying a new HD and upgrading the RAM and keep working on the old one. I just use it for internet, word processing and Photoshop.

    My specs are

    Pentium M 2.13 GHz
    80 GB Ultra ATA HD
    256 MB RAM

So if buy a 1GB upgradable RAM and say a 320 GB HD would my laptop work fine ? Will the extra RAM be compatible with my processor ? Any help will be much appreciated.

    Cheers,

If you buy 1GB of DDR2 memory and a 320GB PATA hard drive, both should work.

But what does the BSoD complain about? If it's a problem with something other than the memory or HDD, upgrading those two isn't going to help...

    Thanks for the reply

I did run the diagnostics from the CD and got a error on the 'Read data from HD test' and the error code was 0F00:0232 and I checked in various forums and they all indicated that the HD had bad sectors and need to be replaced. Please correct me if im wrong.
