This is about the fifth time this has happen. Seems like once or twice a week. I wrote down the description below. Can anyone tell me what this mean? Could this be my ram?

    Error code was "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"

I've had this problem on my desktop computer actually. For me it was bad memory. You might need to get Dell to replace all your memory.

Okay, this will be a shock to everyone and to me!

I chatted with Dell tech last night and I was told that this is a known issue. They then insisted that I proceed with "repairing window". The tech would not tell me specifically which parts or drivers were causing this, he only insisted that this would permanently fix the problem. The step and procedure are given in the following link provided by dell's tech.

    http://support.dell.com/support/top.../en/document?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&dn=1056993

During the repair process, I had a couple of error, like some weird file not found, but the repair process continues and there seems to not be any problem with my window, at least not yet.

I probably have to continue using for next 2 months to see if problem is fix, but isn't this weird? Can anyone elaborate more on this?

it's not a known issue. you had some conflict in your OS. all he did was have you repair your XP install.

I may try this repair process to see if it fixes my USB issue...does the repair leave the Media Center alone? I would assume so, since the documentation states "user application and data are not affected"

the truth is that i don't like the repair feature. i'd rather do a full reinstall, but that's just me and if you have your system the way you like, it's probably not recommended.
