Blu-Ray on the M1530 (or any Dell laptop...) question

I'm considering a 1530, and I've been reading up on it, but for whatever reason, I can't really find anything that details what the blu-ray experience is like on this laptop (or any other...)

I'd probably be hooking the laptop up to a 46" LCD HDTV via HDMI for most blu-ray content, but how does it look on the laptop screen? (and if you have blu-ray, what size screen did you get?)

My main use for this computer is development, and the 1620 x 1050 screen seems to work for me (tiny text doesn't bother me at all, I'm on 1440 x 960 in a 15" package, and it's still pretty 'big' for me), but with all I've been reading about these screens, I'm not so sure about it anymore...

Either way, the blu-ray was the only feature I'm interested in that I haven't been able to find any information on. If you have any useful information, I'd be very glad to hear it. Thanks!

For me the big question was:

    - "Will the Blu-ray drive read and write CD and DVD disks"

I could not find any information about this, so I ordered my M1530 without blu-ray.

In any case I assume that a dvd rw drive will be likely to have less technical problems.

    the bluray works brilliantly.

it does read/write to cd, dvd and bluray.

my screen is 1280x800, and bluray looks fine on it - but the real benefit is, as you say, using hdmi to hook it up to my tv.

the laptop comes with a remote control, so you can even control all the functions without getting off the sofa!

    it's all good.

Yes, it will, as it says on the website (although I've often seen conflicting/different info on Dell's website, so I understand the confusion)

I'll probably go ahead with it anyway. I'm not sure about 'upgrading' to XP, though, as I don't want to render the $500 accessory unusable.
