The screen resolutions available will allow you to get full high def support, though I agree - on a very small screen it does not make a very big difference.
Nonetheless, there could be many reasons to get Blu-Ray on a laptop, even if the screen is a non high def resolution.
The Studio 15 has HDMI, so you could hook the laptop to a TV and watch movies on there, using the laptop as a Blu-Ray player. Additionally, if you have a movie on a Blu-Ray disc, it will not play on your laptop in ANY definition unless you have a Blu-Ray ROM (at least). This may become applicable to games and other applications in the near future - we already see the option of getting a single DVD or multiple CDs for many programs, and I would not be surprised to see multiple DVDs or a single Blu-Ray disc in the very near future for larger applications.
Personally right now, I don't think Blu-Ray is worth it in a computer because of the cost - I remember paying $150 dollars for an internal CD-RW for a desktop many years ago, now the price is closer to 1/10th that. Blu-Ray will come down in price, and it will happen soon. If you get it now or wait depends on how much you think you'll use it. If you don't think you'll use it... don't get it, wait. I'm waiting.
