all of the things you don't wan't or need basically... after that it is a good idea if you use a registry cleaner. If you got the time reformat is better (oh god i hate reformating)..

You know it's funny, b/c everytime that I've received a Dell system I've gone straight to reformatting. Although reformatting might take a little bit longer, for a lazy person like me it's actually easier.

No need to stare at that add/remove program list figuring out what I want/don't want & then uninstalling each program one by one. After that cleaning up left over files and registry entries. Even after all of that there's ALWAYS something left over. I'm actually getting tired just thinking about it :D

Use SG's guide and it will be painless. I followed the guide and was able to do it in a couple of hours (including reinstalling drivers and all that). Make sure you have the drivers you need from Dell before you start.

Couple of hours? Use Dell Decrapifier and it will do it in a few minutes.

yeah, reformat/reinstall is way easier, faster, and less frustrating than simply removing the stuff you don't want.
