I have a couple questions about the these problems ive seen people complain about for the Inspiron e1705.

First off, for bloatware cant you just partition/clear the HDD to get rid of the bloatware?

And I heard some user reviews complain of light leakage, does anyone know if the type of screen you get matters for light leakage or is it just laptop design?

I got the widescreen WXGA with the specs below.

I should be recieving this notebook in the "3-5 days" shipping from dell.
(considering they shipped it a week earlier than stated i have faith it will arrive on time :p )

    1) yes

    2) i am pretty sure its somewhat luck of the draw/how much an individual notices it...one manufacturer might be more consistent than the other, but they aren't going to be the same every time. Mine has a little bit towards the bottom but it's not that noticeable unless its on the black screen saver

    kk thanks!

-there just seemed to be alot of ppl complaining about losing HDD space to bloatware and.. i was just thinking its rly not that hard to get rid of.
-and for the screen, its not like im going to be sitting in a dark room while using it or anything and im not sure if i'd care if there was light leaking on my screen saver lol.

    thankyou again

    Hi,

you can sure just reformat the HDD and do a clean reinstallation of Windows, you just need a windows CD/DVD to do this.
On mine, I just removed all the trial software, but left the Dell software. Doesn't seem to me as if it was very ressource-consuming, I do never notice it unless I want to.

I have a seperate vista (or XP if vista creates too much of a problem) boot disc i'll most likely be using, so there shouldnt be any problems.
