So I have a black Inspiron on order. Calling tomorrow to get some changes to the config - thought that I should change color as well. Based on the Pics below which would you choose? If the black was Glossy, it would be a no brainer for me The matte vs. shiny is throwing me off. Also see how nice the HP black looks compared to the Dell.
-
if the m1330 had a midnight blue option, I'd choose it!
-
Just an FYI, if you make any changes your shipdate is pushed back like a month...
-
Really?! Spoke to a Dell Rep yesterday and she indicated no change. Damn - I hope this not true cause I need to upgrade my HD and downgrade my Screen.
-
Yes, because you can't edit an order...you can only cancel it and create a new order. So you are put way back to the end of the queue, and they are having quantity problems right now...and the price will most likely go up, because the promotions have changed as well.
-
I chose jet black for myself. If the black for the Dell was as shiny as the HP, that would be awesome, but it doesn't really matter to me.
-
Hmmm...uptill yesterday afternoon my Rep offered me same ship date and same price. I just checked EPP website too and I see the sate has been bumped to 7/31 because of the WXGA+ screen. Price is the same for me. Dell just has to manually enter my $200 coupon which they said they would because currently it is applied to my first order that I want to change.
-
So do you order from EPP too, or Home?
-
I'm deciding on this too, although I just saw the white one..
It's soooo shiny!, I'm going with the blue though, white will get dirty quickly IMO..The white iPod is enough -

After speaking with a dell rep i went with black, he said it stood up better against scratches
-
lol, Have fun with it!
Can't wait for mine to arrive!
Congrats, You made a good choice, both are really good...
Just saw your specs, It's really good
I said this before, Dell AU had massive price drop and I was going for the macbook 2.4Ghz for 3599, but I got the dell for 2990 with 4GB of ram and a 7200RPM HDD, and Bluetooth/wireless N etc..
I'm out, Gonna watch a few movies.. This dell forum gets so many threads, seriously I went to sleep for a while and there is 6 pages of threads -
I'm in the same boat...black or blue? I heard blue marks and smudges easier, but might look better because of the finish. Black is plain old matte, but might be better long term? I dunno!
-
Glossy will be a PITA to keep fingerprint-free.

500AUD, It used to be like 999..... lol I had to do it!, All up at that price and better HDD and double RAM of the macbook, Plus 700 bucks cheaper, great saving IMO.
Can't wait for it though, It'll be like 2-3 weeks before I get mine.
What's weird is that my PC has 512MB of RAM, and I do pretty much everything fine, Core 2 duo CPU.. Just sometimes takes a while to load up games, I wonder what 4GB will be like...
Also, dell AU only has choice for Vista business and Premium, I chose premium but why isn't there a choice for the x64 edition? Or is it already x64 by default? -

I plan on getting the 64bit version of vista once the kinks are worked out of the system. Until then i will be perfectly contempt with 32 bit.
-
Dont buy memory from dell, period. Buy it online. On ebay and other website, 4GB is only about $250.
-
Although buying from Dell does have the advantage of not having to take off the keyboard to add it on. Skills vary, but I'm not about to try to detach the keyboard by myself.
Not getting the Dell upgrade either, though - no point for it and my budget isn't that big. -
-
MIdnight blue... hands itchin... the wait is too long

I ordered through home and got the epp discount and student discounts. I got the specs below for the price below.

personally, i like how the dell isn't shiney, personally the shine to the HP throws me off it... if I was to decide between the two, i'd prob choose the blue...
