I am having trouble connecting to bittorent files using BT clients such as bitcomet. I know that its not my campus network because people tell me that it works on the university network. I am suspecting that it is one of those Dell preinstalled security software which I signed up for(one of them is Trend Micro Pc-cillin, not sure about the rest).
What can I do??? Help!

This may sound dumb, but try opening the port on the Windows Firewall.

I have already listed Bitcomet as one of the exceptions not to be blocked by the Windows firewall

There would be absolutley nothing I can see dell being able to do to stop you from using bit torrent.

Try Azureus and run its test to see if your firewall is playing nice. It's probably the best Bittorrent GUI out there anyhow.
Bittorrent blocked by Dell security software?
