Well, Dell has billed me twice for my laptop. Not good. They're telling me they can't resolve it today. Bought through the outlet. Anyone have any ideas how to get this resolved quickly?

Yes, tell them to get it fixed by Monday or you call the credit card company!

Keep calling them and calling them and calling them until you annoy them enough.

Here's an update on what's happening:

My order confirmation shows a total of 1247.71, which is showing as a pending charge.

They show in their system that the amount to be billed is 1248.91, which is also showing as a pending charge. They show in their system that this is the only charge submitted.

It's got me a little worried, since the charges are different. Definitely a glitch in the system.

Well, I forgot to bring my order number to work with me today, so now they are actually refusing to talk to me. This is what they call award winning customer service?

All you have to do is call your credit card company. A double charge is automatic grounds for a chargeback.

Yeah. Call Dell, if they don't fix it right then, then call the CC company and do a chargeback.

Well, they stated there was nothing the could do until the credit card division got in to reverse the charge. When I called yesterday they stated that had been done, even though the previous stance was that they had not billed me twice. I had to wait until Monday night for the charge to drop off my account.

I spoke to a friend of mine that works in Dell sales and he believes that what happened is they did an initial hold to verify that I had the money, but they had miscalculated the tax, so they submitted a second charge.

Hell of a thing to do, a huge inconvenience, and they really don't see it as a problem.

They refund the money in 48-72 hours. In some cases they have to fill out a release form for the credit card company to release the funds.
