Anyone taken them for a test drive?

I found out that the 185 drivers from laptop2go work great except that my computer can't wake from sleep properly.

The beta's are version 179 - anyone notice if that has the same effect?

I want to try them out, but lately my experiments on my laptop have created some time consuming issues. And I have homework to do. Anyone??

Ive been using 179 since it came out. No problems whatsoever. It wakes/sleeps normally. ;)

Sweet . . . any performance gain / hit? I wonder why laptop drivers seem to be so far behind desktops in this respect. 185 gave me a meaningful boost on some of my DX10 games. Wonder if 179 is comparable? Only one way to find out . . .

I use DX9, but it seemed to give me maybe a small boost. But not much difference overall. The Fans dont run as often, and the GPU runs slightly cooler.

My windows experiance swings from 3.5 to 3.6 depending on the driver. I can tell you that being at the 3.6 end usually means everything 'feels' better. My temp hit 92 cent last night on farcry though . . . that was scary. Previously, my highs never gone over 90. Usually around 87.

Dont worry about Your Windows Experience Score. Its completely Inaccurate.

For real Benchmarking, use 3DMark06, and PCMark05. ;)

Oh I know that . . . I just use it for convenience' sake. I don't really want to see how low my score would be on 3dmark! Personally, I think the latest 3d mark series are getting super bloated. Not sure I really think of it as a clear cut and dry indicator of graphics performance anymore. At least, after realizing how often new hardware comes out that is crippled by ty drivers! Only to get a boost some months later.
