    Hi folks,

I've got a new 15 in 7537 and the wireless seems to suck. I say seem because the router is old and is getting replaced, yet ethernet connection consistency isn't much better than wifi.

Plus the new TP-Link Archer D7 I'm getting in the mail is dual band and ac, along with the Ubiquiti M2 Loco which will be broadcasting on either 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz.

So what's the best wireless card upgrade option?

Dell tech support via chat were hopeless. They said "it wasn't supported" if I didn't buy their Intel wireless chip, but they didn't answer when asked if supported meant void warranty. The tech warned about HMWWB (after market) but there's obvious vested interest there.

    My current wifi:

I'm after the best option out there (I'm not familiar with what this may be), but am essentially after dual band and ac support.

Is this the best and suitable for the 7537?

What is your Service Tag? If you can't tell then you need to use it on the Dell driver support site and type it in and look at your product model and find what wifi it comes with and other wifi that it can be used with by looking at their site. And that wifi you listed doesn't tell us if it work you need to do homework and look with your service tag number at Dell site and find what wifi it comes with to know what will work. Not everyone everywhere has the same make or model or can say right off hand what works or doesn't work.

Hey guys, just ordered my dell 7537 to be delivered this week. Before ordering I've read about a lot of wifi problems here. If I do have an issue with weak wifi signal, will adding an external wifi adapter work well ( example)? Specifically will the connection be good for gaming as compared to an internal card. Sorry if this is a silly question :p

Here's what dell list for you unit.
    Intel Centrino Wireless-N 7260 AGN/AC/BGN

And since it has AC if you have AC router you should get the best signal possible. And since it is Intel I would say that is a very good card to start with.

I haven't found issues with my 7537 so far other than it supports only 2.4ghz, so I'm replacing the card.

Just to update. Received my new dell 7537 today and wifi is showing full 5 bars. Speed test is showing full speed. Just waiting on a game to download so I can test for any dropouts. Btw storm why would an external wifi reciever cause problems? Are they not compatible with laptops?
EDIT: wifi connections seems perfectly stable, no dropouts. Tested using bittorent.

An update: that card installed easily and works fine. 5ghz ac reception fluctuates a bit but it doesn't drop and remains fast. 2.5ghz is stable and far-reaching. Worth the upgrade for sure.

    Hi Darren,
Is your new card is issue-free? have checked it like placing the laptop far from the router with 1 or more concrete wall between?
