Interesting...would anybody recommend drivers other than the ones from Dell for the ATI X300 in the 6000 series?

EDIT: Hmmm...I was looking at the site above and they DO have Mobility Drivers with extra optimizations and features. I might be able to do things with my 6000 that never would work before. I'll test and see if there is a difference with the Omega Drivers over the Dell drivers when I get home this Friday and post if I see a difference. If anybody else with a 6000 and a X300 wants to give them a whirl, go ahead and see.

you can also try www.laptopvideo2go.com I use the 76.41 drivers with the 30.69 modded inf and they work great increased my 3DMark05 score by like 900 some points. I plan on trying the 76.50 drivers I've heard they are also really good and I know thats what alot of others are using.

Its always best to use the latest drivers out because sometimes you can see as much as a 30% improvement which is killer.

Oh to use the modded drivers just download extract to DT put the modded Inf. in the extracted folder and run.

here is a link that explains it better. http://notebookforums.com/showpost.php?p=794503&postcount=78

    hope this helped..

    Coolqf,
I should have re worded my statement. People (especially gamers) seem to go to that site and right off the bat post that they are happy,thanks,etc...People locally that I know. It was posted in a local PC magazine when I first heard of the little site for people to check out.

I was finding it odd that at the same time or close sometimes posted seconds apart Gargoyle and a few others post the same one right behind or before me. So I assumed i wasn't the only one that thought it was a good option. Not the "best" necessarily!

I would try what people suggest but I would look around. I shouldn't have said "It's the best" ! People tend to love the driver they find there and there truly wasn't a driver like this one on NVIDIA or Dell when I started suggesting . I don't like my statement and I will go back and remove/edit later.

Go to as many links as people post. I shouldn't have said it was the "best"...I did because I would only hear good things about the driver from that site the person chose. If I use the statement "The Best most updated" I better believe it is myself. I believe It's one of the better/good choices. The site seems to stay updated but I don't go there unless like yesterday before I posted it to check it out for sure!

    Sorry for any confusion,
    Heart[ :)]
