I am about to remove Mediadirect. I don't use it but remembered someone saying it is needed for the travel remote. Somehow I doubt this...

My question is what software to use to map the keys so that I can get more functionality out of my remote?

I found a few old progs that haven't been updated since 2006. Anyone have any suggestions?

I believe you need QuickSet for the remote, not MD.

You need neither.. Although if someone could find a tool for remapping the keys, it'd be great.. Assigning a button to sleep/shutdown would do the trick for me.. The HP remotes are much better, in that sense...
