Just bought a 1520 and curious which is the best vista compatible game controller for portability with all the bells and whistles like rumble and cabled or wireless.

I don't know about rumble. But I use my PS2 controller to play video games on my laptop. If you have one you could get a USB adapter at Radio Shack for about 10 bucks.

You can use an Xbox Controller if you want...the regular one is just a USB cable, just splice it and solder on the USB end./..and use XBCD for a driver.

Or the Xbox360 one, which can be wireless if you want.

Really? Did you just plug it in? Don't you need some sort of driver to get the computer to recognize the ps2 controller? That sounds really cool if it works, and I'd like to do it with my computer.

I use my wireless Logitech PS2 controller. Works flawlessly. The Adapter I bought will allow two PS2 controllers and an Xbox and GC controller, as well as having 2 USB ports. So it's a little big, but it get's the job done. It came with a disk for drivers, which pretty much any adapter you buy should. Although I'm not sure about Vista compatibility.

I also use a 360 controller via USB, but I suggest custom XBCD drivers instead of M$s, because they suck.

Nope, you don't need to install any drivers. The adapter came with a disk but I've never used it. Vista and XP will automatically detect it when you plug it in.
