So ... I'm going to be traveling to India for 3 weeks in August on company business. I already have a company laptop (D620) but it obviously won't play any decent 3d games, so I'm contemplating bringing a personal laptop as well.

I recently sold my old 600m and would like to purchase a new model that will allow me to game with decent graphic settings. My game of choice at the moment is Everquest 2 and I also hope to be playing Quake Wars by that time too.

Is the 7900gs my best option? I know the 8600 is out now on some of the Asus laptops but from what I've read it doesn't perform as well as the 7900. I can still get a E1705 with 7900gs on Ebay for <>$1600 ... but that's alot of money for me. I guess I'm looking for suggestions on which budget laptop I can grab that will still game decently? Doesn't necessarily have to be Dell either.

Also, does anyone know if Completecare/LoJack will cover my laptop if I am traveling overseas?

    Thanks in advance

hm you should probably post this at the computer suggestions forum. On a Dell forum, you'll probably be told to buy the new inspirons with the 8600 GT, but from past experience, a highly loaded Dell laptop is going to cost you around or more than 1600. I would suggest looking at asus f3sv series if you want dx10 or look at old dell/asus laptops if you want dx9
