Originally, I was planning on buying the d630, which already comes with a 3-year warranty. However, now that I am considering the m1330 and the inspiron 1420, I'm curious as to what you all think the best-value warranty is.

I was debating going the bare-bones minimum, since I'm really not sure how much the additional service is worth it. But, I'm still interested in your thoughts...

Well thier three year warrenty isnt that much more expencive. which means that you are probably better off without it. If they can offer it at such a lower price that means that they can afford to make your money go to waste (which is realy what they are trying to do, they try to make the most out of a warrenty as thats where they make money) which means that thier confident that they wont lose money on it. which means that you will.

Go with the "as is" option. Just take care of your notebook well.

the price you pay for the 3 yr warranty is as much as u can expect to pay if you accidentally drop ur laptop. if you lost it you can't get lojack. if you drop it, they wont fix it. i'd max out my warranty..so i'm going to be getting the 3 yrs with my 1520 when i order it sometime soon.
