I have an 1420, and am experiencing occasional lag for something as little as minimizing and maximizing windows, among other things. I also want the best in-game performance. I've been trying to look around laptopvideo2go.com and can't find anything helpful other than just lots of options. Does anyone have experience with the best driver for the 8400GS in the 1420? I am currently using 101.43

The 165.01 driver seems to be the most stable.

Even though 101.43 is WHQL certified and has native support for the 8400GS?

165.01 isn't WHQL certified, and I would have to use a modified IDF (which I've never done before). Also, if you say the 165.01 is nice - what about the latest 163.14 which JUST came out?

oddly enough, with the 163 new one, my 3dmark score fell like 200 points. i'd go with the more stable one

I still experience OCCASIONAL choppyness with everything from minimizing and maximizing to playing games...maybe I should run a test on my GPU...
