    Im thinking about getting a new laptop from Dell to replace my Gateway Laptop.
    What is the best laptop to buy for around $1800 or less?

    For business/productivity use, Latitude D630 or D830.
    For gaming and multimedia use, one of the Inspirons.
    If you want something really small and light, then XPS M1330.

    With the $325 coupon or student discounts, you should be able to pretty much max out an Inspiron 1520/1720 without exceeding your price range.
