Hi, I just bought a new Dell Inspiron E1505 with Windows Vista. I want it to be protected from all kind of viruses, trojans....etc. Which antivirus do you guys recommend for Vista from the following list?

    -Kaspersky
    -NOD32
    -Bitdefender
    -Avast!

I would say that all are good, but NOD32 and Kapersky are at the top of the class.

I recommend Kaspersky. If you are actually interested, I have some discount licenses for Kaspersky Internet Security...

From the following list, one can assume you're willing to pay for your protection.
As a result, cross Avast! off since while it's decent for being free, you can get better from the paid ones.

Of the remaining, NOD32 is and has always had the best proactive defense, while Kaspersky tops out the known viruses list. Up to you which you feel is a worse threat to your system.

It does, and there's actually a review of it on that site as well.

It still didn't do as well as NOD32 though.

However, you'd probably want to check around a few more comparative sites and do more research just in case as well.

What I really want to know is...when will NOD32 turn into NOD64? :p

They both offer free trials. Test them out and see which one you like better. Although you probably wouldn't be able to compare how much better one is than the other at finding and cleaning viruses in that period of time (hopefully), you could at least get a feel for other factors, such as memory footprint, system slowdown, interface, conflicts with your existing software, etc.

I've heard both are good. I've also heard Kaspersky might be a little more user-friendly than NOD32. Probably can't go wrong with either.

NOD32 is user friendly and MUCH MUCH MUCH faster than KAV.
