Sorry if this is the wrong forum.

I have a new E1705, but I have some questions about benchmarking in general. How much discrepancy is there between tests on the same computer, and how much between like hardware setups?

I had a different E1705 (both with Core Duo T2500) and the first scored 1:12 SuperPI straight from Dell, but this one, even after reformat, is lucky to get 1:15. Not a big difference, but it seems unusual for "identical hardware." Also, with this new laptop, I ran 3dmark05 straight out of the box (with a 7900GS) and it scored 6400+, the next run scored just under 6000, and now after the reformat it scores 6000-6200, depending on its mood. Any thoughts?

Systems on battery or AC? There will be a difference if it isn't plugged in and at full charge.

Plugged in, fully charged, I've also tried setting it to Always On.

Oh, and in case someone asks, the original drivers were stock Dell 84.29, now I'm using Laptopvideo2Go 84.69, although I tried to go back to the Dells but with no change.
