There is a beeping sound coming from my computer hardware.

    It is Vostro 1500.

The sound is coming from above the keyboard, near the screen.

It sounds like a heart monitor sound that lasts about 2 seconds.

It is coming from a piece of hardware.

The motherboard can have its own speaker for POST diagnostics. When is the beep appearing?

    Randomly. About once a week.

I don't think it is a heat issue.

Are you holding down any keys when it happens? If you turn your speakers off does it still appear?

Since it happens with your speakers off, it is most certainly due to the motherboard speakers. You should get in contact with Dell to take a look at it.
