    In 2 days ive had my 1557 to just shut down 4 different times.Everything just goes boom off.It could be the DEMO game im playing but upon restart sometimes I get a beep code.I just hit the power button and it shuts down then I hit it again and it POST and boots like normal.

    I get 1 long beep and 2 short beeps.

    Does anyone know what this is?

    Is it heat?

    I know for a fact its a heat problem thats shutting my laptop down.I turned the AC on and put the laptop over a vent and played the Left 4 Dead 2 demo through its entirety.It shut down on me twice this morning after only a couple of munites of play.

    Still dont know why I was getting a beep code after a hard shut down though

    My Studio 1555 gave the exact same beep code (although followed by 6 softer beeps) last week, and hasn't turned on since. I highly suggest you call Dell about this while you still have warranty.
