I did not receive my coupon for 50 dollars after receiving my machine. I am now on the Dell chat with a CSR. He is telling me that my coupon that originally was 25 and I was told was upgraded to 50 is now only still 25. The current CSR is saying they cannot upgrade it back to 50 like I was told earlier and will not give me anything else. Dell customer service and loyalty in my eyes just fell. Do not promise me money and take it away.

I told him I was disappointed and would not be buying Dell again. I wonder if I should have bought an HP......

Never do dell chat when dealing with compensation issues. Always call the customer care.

they didnt give me my credit either. but the CSR might not know anything..

my cc account was billed two diff amounts, one for the original, and one for the upgrade in res when they had to change the order...so the additional credit might take a few days or weeks...til it shows up?

id keep on calling them too, just to annoy the hell outta them until they give it to you.

Thanks for the head up. I was promised a coupon today when I talked to them about my delayed order. The follow-up e-mail they sent made no mention of the coupon or amount, so I sent an e-mail back to them asking for verification of the arrangements I made over the phone. We shall see what they say.

Why do people think that being an @$$ will get you something that being nice and sincere didn't... Personally, when I worked at Dell and other call centers, if you were one to me, I was one right back. When I was a sup, if you called and were that way, I noted the account to never give you what you wanted... you had to write to corp to get it taken off. If you were nice, I was nice right back and usually gave you more then you asked. Trust me, kindness goes a long way.

I complained earlier and I got a targus messenger bag promised to me. The guy I talked with actually ordered it and gave me the order number and stuff. now that is what I call great compensation. Lol I'm receiving my compensation before I get my laptop lol. I guess being nice does work.

This is so very true! Think about your own personal lives......would you be more willing to help someone that asked you nicely, or barked at you and TOLD you to do something?

I am now talking to the CSR and we are both being very pleasant to each other. He has now offered to give me a 50.00 credit to my credit card. So now I guess I am getting the 25.00 coupon and the 50.00 credit. I am now a bit happier with Dell. I cannot understand what happened but I guess I will learn to call and not use the Chat line again.

Going in guns blazing will usually just increase the casualty count and accomplish nothing. Going in being respectful of the person on the phone (remember you're probably the 1000th person they've talked to all with the same problem) will yield much better results.

I made sure to ask one of the many reps I talked to, to send me an email with written confirmation of the credits promised.
In one simple email I have text from a rep saying yes, you will receive a $75 credit to your card. We will also remove the $39.00 shipping charges.
If I dont get it, I have a nice official email to forward
