Just out of curiosity. I've been wondering if a higher resolution on a laptop will actually lower your battery uptime? If it does by how much? (considering you do the same thing with 2 different resolutions for sure)

I highly doubt it will lower your battery uptime, as the difference really isn't anything drastic.

Brightness is the biggest factor of a screen and battery.

... and its a factor of the CCFL tube lamp attached to the display not the display itself. Two same sized/different res screens from a certain manufacturer are likely to use the same CCFL tube to light them.

I've found the difference to be a little below a watt. As in, less than 5% difference usually.
