I bought Dell Inspiron 1525, with an invoice date March 10th, 2008.
It has a 9cell lithium ion battery, 85Whr.
From last 3-3.5 months, the battery has got dead, and I am virtually running my laptop on AC power, with battery giving just 1-2 minutes of backup.
Few Queries:
1.Since its under warranty, I want to know how much time does Dell take to replace the battery.
2.What proof do I have to give them to make them believe that my battery is dead?
3.I have installed Linux on my system and use it all the time, keeping Vista just for occasional purpose, Will they make pointless arguments over it?
4.After getting the replacement battery, is that battery also under one year warranty?

1. They might just ask you to send in the battery or send you a new one and have you send back the bad one. You would need to ask them directly what the procedure is.
2. Just tell them that it doesn't last long. They may use the remote tech to verify the battery has a low capacity.
3. They shouldn't argue about this, but it will depend on the tech you get.
4. Probably not another year, but either 3 or 6 months.
