Hello,
I just bought a dell inspiron 8500 from a flea market and i take it home only to realize i get about only 15 minutes of battery life after i fully charge it.
Now am i not doing something correctly? it says the batterys status is discharging when i click on status of battery, what does that mean?
When a battery goes dead that quick, is there only one solution(to get a new battery)? If so, does anyone know of a site i can get a dell battery for a good price.
Also, if i decide to buy a battery on ebay, what questions should i ask the seller? because dont they sell fake batteries sometimes?
Is there any store i could go 2 to test i out to see if the battery is the problem? i just dont want to buy a battery for 100 bucks if thats not the problem

The battery is just old. If you can find the Dell part number Pricegrabber would be another good site. I would suggest getting a Dell made battery.

On pricegrabber, only one of them says OEM underneath the price, check it out.

I think when it says equivalent or generic, it is not a Dell battery.
