last week ,i noticed that the battery indicator on my 6400 was flashing "orange, orange, orange, green" when it was off.

anyone know what this means? dying battery? charging battery? it's almost always on AC though ... ?

in internet search i observed the problem as "Temporary Battery Failure ".
i seperated battery from laptop and worked for 2 days, today i connected again but its indication as previouly 3xorange 1xblue.
this morning, when powered on, and plugged in via AC, it's still doing that.

Can anybody tell me how to solve this problem.

    Thank you
    Sinu

Does it work on battery or only on AC power? If it does work with battery, how long does it work? I would think that some (or all) of the cells in the battery is damaged. I'd get a replacement battery if I were you if you need it to run on battery power.

    Hi D.A,

    thanks for the info.
its working on both (Battery and AC). with battery its around 40-60 min.
But in Dell website it shows temporary battery failure. so there will be a solution i think (but they didnt mentioned). is there any way to stop blinking that LED??

    thank you again
    Srinu
