    Hi.

As long as it does not rise, i would not worry about it, I had a new laptop with a 7% wear from day one, and it never got any worse.

I also had a laptop with 0% wear on day 1, go to 15% within 7 days, I got the battery replaced.

Do not do any deep discharges as you will only wear out your battery quicker.

Normally a it should be under 10% wear within the first year.

    Regards

    John.

well really it is less than 5% if you look at it. You have a 56 whr battery and it is at 54.7 right now. Thats only 2.3% wear.

Well I had HP 6730s for about 2 months with 0 % wear level.
Also I everyday discharge and charge my notebook 1 or 2 times, and by my opinion battery lifetime for now is good :)

As John said if "it never got any worse" than 5 %, it will be fine for me :)

    Thank you :)

    Other opinions are welcome :)

    Hi.

I would take any runtime and wear level information with a extra large pinch of salt.

    Regards

    John.

    I don't think a 56wHr battery is exactly 56000.

For example, I changed my Compaq (junk) laptop battery to a 12-cell Extended Life one rated at 95wHr, but it is reported as 95040 capacity. When I started using it, the wear level was already 5% at 90xxx. After about 2 months, it's now 8% at 88xxx.

WOw my notebook is new, I have 3 years warranty
and 1 year (if i'm not wrong) for the battery :)

I hope it will stuck to 5% for long time :)
If it get wrost I will use my warranty :)

By the way my borther and my father have HP Compaq nx9420 *amazing machine. My brother's battery works perfect, but my father's - only 10 minutes. Both notebooks are on 2 years.
I guess it is just luck :)

    Thank you for the information.
I really hope 5% for long time :)
