My laptop has been having ridiculous overheating/graphic card problems recently. In an attempt to alleviate some heat I took out the battery while playing a game. I didn't put it in for a couple days and now when it is put back in, there is no activity from it. If the power plug is pulled, the laptop shuts off completely. Any clue as to what I can do?

    How old is your battery?
Have you tried to recalibrate it?

You calibrate your battery in your bios. As you turn you notebook on, there should be a logo of your notebook brand. Once you see the logo, press press F1 or F2 or Esc, or one of the F buttons (each brand has a different button). Then just navigate to the battery calibration page and start to calibrate. The process usually takes 2-4 depending on your battery.

Checked out the BIOS and it doesn't even recognize the battery. I'm beginning to think that it's completely dead. This would be quite lame since it's a year old and rarely used directly. Any thoughts?
